Increasingly first time buyers are moving into properties where they can put down roots and avoid future moving costs. According to property news website housefund.co.uk, research by Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks has found that 21% of people surveyed were looking for a larger property as their first home where they could live for more than 10 years.

Bloor’s Silsoe Grange development in the village of Silsoe, Bedfordshire offers first time buyers the perfect opportunity to buy a three bedroom home which can be adapted to suit changing needs. For example, the second bedroom could be rented out initially to provide useful additional income and the third bedroom could double as a study or home office.

Priced from £230,000 (£184,000 with Help to Buy), the three bedroom Fanhope offers well planned, accommodation, finished to an excellent specification. On the ground floor there is a spacious lounge, a kitchen/diner with French doors to the rear garden, a utility and cloakroom.

On the first floor, the master bedroom features an en-suite shower room and fitted wardrobes. There is another double bedroom, a single bedroom and a family bathroom.

Vanessa Macnee, Sales Director of Bloor Homes comments: “It makes sense for first time buyers to purchase the largest home they can afford so they don’t have to move again too soon and find money for moving costs. The Fanhope is an excellent choice for someone buying their first home as it offers flexible accommodation at a reasonable price. Prospective buyers can also take advantage of the Help To Buy Scheme which provides an equity loan of up to 20%, meaning that buyers need to find a much lower deposit - from as little as 4%.”

Silsoe Grange is set in a village location yet within easy reach of the beautiful Bedfordshire scenery and magnificent Wrest Park with its 90 acres of parkland. The village has a range of amenities, including the Star and Garter public house, The George Hotel, as well as newsagents, hairdressers and other local retailers.

A little bit further afield there are leisure activities to suit all ages, whether it is a stroll round the market town of Bedford or a fun day out for all the family at Xscape MK with its indoor ski slope and skydiving.

The development is conveniently situated for travel to surrounding areas, being located between Bedford and Luton on the A6 and Ampthill and Shefford on the A507. For commuters, Flitwick railway station is just five miles away, providing regular services to London in 50 minutes.

Other homes currently available at Silsoe Grange include the three bedroom Oxbridge from £275,000 and Arden from £285,000, as well as four bedroom and five bedroom homes starting at £330,000 and £550,000 respectively.
