Linden Homes is opening its doors to a one-stop shop for first time buyers looking to move in Peterborough.

The first time buyers surgery at the White Willows @ Burghfield Place development near Gunthorpe – will be open for one evening only, Thursday July 25 from 5-7pm.

Professionals and experts dealing in law, money matters and mortgage lending will be on hand to guide potential buyers through the purchasing process and financial arrangements associated with buying a new home.

This will include a step-by-step explanation of the popular Government Help to Buy scheme.

Here’s how the Help to Buy scheme works:

It is available on new build homes only.

Purchasers need a minimum five per cent deposit.

All homebuyers could be eligible, not just first-time buyers.

The government will lend you up to 20 per cent of the value of your property through an equity loan, which can be repaid at any time or on the sale of your home.

Buyers will only need to secure up to a 75 per cent mortgage from a bank or building society.

The maximum home purchase is £600,000

A number of customers have already bought through the scheme – including Mandy and Alan Bartlett, who were the first in the company to use the incentive, and purchased a property at Burghfield Place.

Mandy explained: “We’d been living in two-bedroom rented accommodation for the past five years because we hadn’t been able to afford to move to a home of our own during that time.

“We’d spend all that time saving for a deposit and it’s fair to say that without this Help to Buy scheme, we would still be having to rent for some time to come.”

While the scheme is available across Linden Homes’ regional developments lindenhomes.co.uk - the company’s first FTB surgery of its kind is geared towards those looking for a new home on the outskirts of Peterborough.

The White Willows @ Burghfield Place development boasts 36 two, three and four-bedroom homes – including for the first time at this development, a range of three-bedroom detached styles.

The Helpston show home will also be open to give home hunters the chance to see just what the development has to offer.

White Willows @ Burghfield Place is conveniently located close to the A15 Paston Parkway and the nearby villages of Gunthorpe and Werrington.

Located at the front of the current development off Manor Drive, many of the homes on the new phase will overlook green open space on the outskirts of the city centre.

For details call into the sales and marketing suite, which is open from Thursday to Monday from 10.30am until 5pm.
