Navarino Bike Festival

The first international mountain bike race in the southwest Peloponnese, which is also the only one included in the 2013 international calendar of bike racing by the International Cycling Union (UCI) in Greece, is taking place on 11th to 13th October 2013.

The “Navarino Bike Festival” will be an ideal way to explore the rich countryside, giving both professional and amateur cyclists another reason to visit the region and experience the diverse landscape.

Aiming to highlight Greece’s natural beauty, whilst also establishing an international cycling race, "Navarino Bike Festival" is the perfect opportunity for cycling professionals and enthusiasts alike to test their endurance through new and challenging race experiences.

On 12th October the amateur “Open Race” of “Navarino Bike Festival” will take place. Cyclists of all ages and abilities can try their skills on an easy and fun route, whilst enjoying the Messinian countryside setting.

On 13th October the “International Cross Country Race” will be held for professional cyclists. This is the only race in Greece for 2013 that has been included in the international calendar of bike racing, by the International Cycling Union (UCI).

The “Navarino Bike Festival” takes place with the support of Costa Navarino, the prime sustainable destination in the Mediterranean.

Aiming to introduce all guests and participants to the region’s cultural heritage, a series of social and cultural events and activities will be taking place throughout the Festival, with local communities’ representatives, who will highlight the Messinian history, traditions and culture.
