Tenerife is pushing the boat out this summer. The biggest of the Canary Islands is hosting two major events that will delight sport and music fans alike: the Professional Windsurfers Association World Championships and the Arona Summer Festival. Two exciting events that will definitely liven up your summer holiday.

For its third consecutive year, El Médano beach, in south Tenerife, is hosting the Professional Windsurfers Association World Championships (wave discipline) from 3rd to 9th August 2013. This year, the event will be more exciting than ever, as Tenerife will be the first place where scores will be allocated in the World Championships’ wave discipline. Many of the best male and female international windsurfers, including Martin ten Hoeve, Marcilio Browne, Ricardo Campello, Dany Bruch, Alex Mussolini, Iballa Ruano, Daida Ruano, Karin Jaggi and Steffi Wahl will compete in Tenerife. There will also be music concerts and recreational activities for everybody to enjoy. El Médano beach is known as Tenerife’s kite boarding and windsurfing capital due to its regular trade winds and its natural golden sands that extend for over three kilometres – making it the longest stretch of beach in Tenerife.
