Miller development is first port of call for buyers

The Portlands, the new Chesterfield development from Miller Homes East Midlands, is proving a hit with buyers, averaging sales of one per week.

Since opening the doors to the sales centre at the beginning of June, the team has welcomed a high volume of visitors, all drawn by the development’s mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes and desirable location just off Sheffield Road.

“Six sales in the first six weeks is pretty impressive,” commented Julia Portington, sales manager for Miller Homes East Midlands. “What’s even more impressive is our show homes aren’t even open yet and this has all been done off plan.

“We’re finding that more and more buyers are preferring the off plan option as it allows them to have a degree of input and to actually see their new home being built. It makes it a more special process.

Amongst the properties available at the 8.5-acre development is the three-bedroom, three-storey Harrow. With prices starting from £172,950, it features an open plan living and dining area with French doors into the garden, and an en-suite in the master bedroom.

Also available is the two-bedroom Rydal, priced at £129,950. With a spacious living area and storage space, it presents the perfect opportunity for first time buyers and couples.

Like all properties at The Portlands, both the Harrow and Rydal are available as part of the Help to Buy scheme. Unveiled as part of this year’s budget, the initiative allows buyers to purchase a property with only a 5% deposit and helps to fund up to 20% of the purchase price in the form of an equity loan. This would make the Rydal available from as little as £103,960.
