Dengue Fever on the rise

Holidaymakers and travellers are being advised to take extra precautions to protect against insect bites, following a three-fold increase in cases of Denge Fever since January 2013.

Spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, Dengue Fever is an infectious tropical disease common in tropical and sub tropical parts of the world.

Symptoms include a severe ‘flu-like’ illness with headache, muscle pain and skin rash. In rare cases more serious symptoms can develop.

At present there is no preventative vaccination for Dengue Fever. Health authorities are advising travellers to take precautions by covering exposed skin with long sleeve tops and trousers and using an effective mosquito repellent.

Mosi-guard Natural, the world’s most widely used natural insect repellent offers powerful protection against a wide range of biting insects, ticks and leeches.

The highly effective formulation is free from DEET, a synthetic chemical used widely in repellents. Instead Mosi-guard Natural uses Citriodiol®, nature’s most effective repellent, which is derived from Lemon Eucalyptus Oil. In trials, Citriodiol® has demonstrated effective protection for up to 8 hours after a single application.2

With a fresh, clean scent, Mosi-guard Natural is suitable for use on adults and children from the age of three months and can be used in high and low risk areas where malaria and other insect transmitted diseases, such as Dengue Fever are present. From sticks and roll-ons, to sprays and creams, Mosi-guard Natural offers a range of formats to suit. Available from mosiguard.com, prices start at £7.29.
