Off the beaten track in in the United Arab Emirates

Corinthian Travel, the Middle East and North Africa luxury specialist, has launched a new 11-day trip entitled Emirates Explorer, which gets right off the beaten track and includes travel through six of the UAE’s seven Sheikhdoms and the remote Omani province of Musandam.

The private tour has been carefully crafted to showcase the diverse scenic, cultural, historic, and iconic modern attractions of the lower Gulf.

Accommodation throughout is at some of the regions finest hotels and resorts including The Palace Downtown Dubai, the Amjan Kempinski, the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort and the St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi.

The itinerary commences in glittering Dubai, to get a flavour of the Emirates’ intriguing, historical past, as well as its modern landmark architectural and engineering achievements.

From there, a drive along the so called ‘Pirate Coast’ to Oman’s wild Musandam peninsula – which is noted for its deep inlets, craggy peaks and bays, hemmed in by sheer cliffs – with a chance to explore the dramatic scenery both by dhow cruise and 4WD vehicle.

Next up is a visit to the historical sites and museums in the laidback emirates of Ajman and Sharjah, before heading to the famed Rub al Khali (Empty Quarter) – the largest sandy desert on the planet where the dunes tower up to 300m – to spend three nights at a luxury desert resort.

The tour ends with a two-night stay by the sea in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, with a private tour to discover a visionary city which has literally been transformed from rags to immense riches in the space of a single generation.
