Housebuilder provides more affordable homes in Pinchbeck

29th August 2013 Print

Housebuilder Larkfleet Homes is offering more affordable homes for local people with the construction of phase two of an existing development in Pinchbeck, near Spalding.

The company previously built 33 homes as part of the first phase of Glen Grange on Pennytoft Lane, providing buyers with quality new homes at affordable prices.

As part of phase two of Glen Grange, 35 additional two and three-bedroom homes will be constructed for local people, helping to further meet the need for affordable rural housing.

To help Pinchbeck’s first-time buyers onto the housing ladder, Larkfleet is offering an equity share scheme which could allow homebuyers to own a new Larkfleet home in Pinchbeck but only pay between 75 and 85 per cent of the total cost.

Larkfleet will pay the remaining amount and homebuyers will then have five or ten years to pay back the amount Larkfleet contributed towards the cost of the property.

No interest is added to amount homebuyers have borrowed from Larkfleet during this five or ten year period and the property can be sold at any time.

Larkfleet’s shared equity scheme is ideal for first-time buyers or those who have found their ideal home but can’t quite afford the full purchase price. It is also available to growing families in Pinchbeck who are looking to take the next step on the property ladder.

Solar photovoltatic (PV) panels which will produce electricity from daylight, generating useable power even on cloudy days, will be fitted to all properties. Larkfleet homeowners at Glen Grange will therefore benefit from reduced electricity bills for years to come by using the energy which the panels generate and also create an income from selling excess power back to the grid.

The second phase of Glen Grange will not only allow first-time buyers a chance to get a foot on the property ladder but will also provide local jobs as Larkfleet will utilise local labour and product supply chains.

Karl Hick, managing director of Larkfleet Homes, said: “The addition to the Glen Grange development will meet the demand for quality new housing in the local area. The first phase of properties on the site sold extremely quickly, demonstrating just how much this type of housing is in demand, and I expect properties on phase two of the development to be just as popular.”

Pinchbeck offers homebuyers all the relaxing aspects of village life and the benefits of good transport links to surrounding towns and cities. Pinchbeck has easy road access to Spalding, Bourne and Boston and good train links mean that the thriving city of Peterborough is only a short journey from Spalding.
