Hunt for the Olinguito in the cloud forest of Colombia & Ecuador

It was recently reported that the first new species of species of carnivore to be discovered in the western hemisphere for 35 years was found in the cloud forest of Ecuador and Colombia and has been named ‘the ‘Olinguito’.

This adventurous trip visits some of the more off-the-beaten-track parts of Colombia giving great opportunities for seeing wildlife whilst passing through some beautiful landscapes.

Highlights will include walking through cloud forest (looking for the Olinguito!), visiting lakes in the Andes, spotting wildlife on the plains of Los Llanos, taking a boat trip up the Amazon (with visits to indigenous communities), wandering the colonial streets of Cartagena and exploring the Tayrona National Park where jungle meets wild beaches.
