Ford’s stylish S-MAX multi-activity vehicle has been recognised at this year’s What Car? Used Car Awards, with accolades also presented to the Focus and Focus Estate.

It is the third time – and the second year running – that the S-MAX has claimed the What Car? Used MPV of the Year title.

Chas Hallett, What Car? editor in chief, said: “The Ford S-MAX is a great people mover and has seats for seven.  It’s also the MPV choice for people who are not great fans of MPVs. It offers flexibility, space and practicality, but drives and handles just like a regular passenger car, as well as being economical to own and run.”

The Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec Climate and Focus 1.6 Zetec Climate Estate models were price-point winners in the less than £6000 category, What Car? describing both as “genuinely good fun to drive” and the best value for money on the market.

Ford has won at least one category every year for the last six in the What Car? Used Car of the Year awards, with Focus voted top family car in 2007, 2008 and 2009, Fiesta the winning supermini in 2011 and S-MAX a three-time class winner.

Mark Ovenden, Ford Britain managing director, said: “We consider it a great honour that award-winning models from the Ford range can go on to claim top honours a few years down the line as used cars. It’s a testament to their value for money, engineering and market appeal.”
