Revo Technik launches VW Group 1.6 TDi CR Custom Software

ECU tuning expert Revo has released a comprehensive package of upgrades for VW Group models featuring the 1.6 TDi CR engine. Having covered literally thousands of road and dyno miles during its development, the Daventry based firm has now signed off the software for sale through its global dealer network.

This engine is a popular choice with the VW Group stable and Revo’s carefully tailored solution caters for both the 74PS and 105 PS variants. Although ignition, boost and fuelling parameters have all been kept very much the right side of safety, the results obtained by Revo’s technicians are quite remarkable. On the 74PS engine an impressive 58 bhp and 64ftlb are available, even in tame ‘Stage 1’ trim, with the added benefits of smoother throttle response, improved drivability and better fuel economy.

Starting from an obviously higher base point, the 105PS variant makes less power, but can still offer discerning owners a most useful 24bhp and 24ftlb of torque with the same drivability and economy improvements as the 74PS software.

In both cases, Revo has taken great care to maintain the original character of the car, keeping the maps smooth and responsive, with a focus on daily driving. Fast and effective, certainly... but always docile and reliable at the same time.
