Named after celebrated British author George Orwell, Bellway Homes’ Orwell Court development in East Kilbride is the perfect place for house hunters wanting to begin a new chapter, especially with the detached Turnberry currently featuring as ‘House of the Month’.

Neighbouring Hairmyres Hospital, where Orwell is reputed to have stayed as a patient in 1947, Orwell Court offers an inspiring collection of three, four and five-bedroom homes.

The Turnberry (Plot 46) is an expansive five-bedroom home with double garage, comprising over 1,847 sq. ft. The ground floor features a spacious lounge, separate family room/study, large open plan kitchen with adjoining dining/family area and downstairs cloakroom. Upstairs, two of the five well appointed bedrooms come with their own en-suite and the master-bedroom also has its own dressing room.

Priced from £319,995, as ‘House of the Month’ the Turnberry also comes with many added extras included, such as an upgraded kitchen complete with integrated appliances, upgraded tiling and landscaped gardens.

Fraser Conn, Sales and Marketing Director at Bellway Homes, says: “Orwell Court has been extremely well received with the development now 90% sold – indicative that demand for homes of quality remains high within one of Scotland’s most popular towns.

“That’s why in addition to our ‘House of the Month’ offer we also have several incentives available to buyers who want to secure a new home here, including 100% Part Exchange, Express Mover and Mi New Home.”

Under 100% Part Exchange a buyer can effectively swap their existing property for a new home. Bellway ensures an independent evaluation is carried out on a client’s current property and guarantees the full market value. The company also covers estate agent’s costs, including the Home Report and any associated marketing costs.

Express Mover was engineered to alleviate the hassle sometimes associated with buying a new home. Bellway recommends an independent local agent to help sell a buyer’s existing house and also markets the property.

With Mi New Home, this offer aims to help overcome the difficulty caused by large deposit requirements. It’s a 95% mortgage scheme implemented by the house building industry and supported by the Scottish Government, as well as a number of lenders. This incentive aims to help both first time buyers and homeowners with between a 5% and 10% deposit secure a new home on properties up to the value of £250,000.

It’s easy to see why East Kilbride remains such a sought after location, as there is so much available to residents and a great deal of it is within reach of Orwell Court.

The development is within walking distance of Hairmyres Station, which provides a regular service to Glasgow’s Central Station, as well as St James Retail Park and The Byre, an unrivalled family friendly restaurant.

Orwell Court is also within easy reach of a good choice of primary and secondary schools, and East Kilbride’s town centre, home to Scotland’s biggest undercover shopping and leisure location, including a multi-screen cinema and ice-skating rink.

For outdoor enthusiasts there are a number of pursuits all year round from The National Museum of Rural Life to the James Hamilton Heritage Park and Calderglen Country Park, with its scenic wooded glens, waterfalls, nature trails and zoo.

East Kilbride is ideally situated for easy commuting to Glasgow, Hamilton and Edinburgh, with excellent links to the M73, M74, M77 and M8.

Prices at Orwell Court are released from £174,995. For further information on the Turnberry ‘House of the Month’ and other incentives available at the development, visit bellway.co.uk.
