War Child and Tune Hotels announce line up for "Tune Up" festival tour

War Child and Tune Hotels announce the line-ups for their upcoming live shows across the UK. The “TuneUp” festivals showcase the country’s brightest new live music talent in four major cities; London, Brighton, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Acclaimed indie band Yuck will headline Brighton’s Komedia on Monday 18th November, while London’s crown prince of glam, King Charles will headline the Scala in the capital on Tuesday 19th November.

Up the M6 in Manchester, War Child and Tune Hotels will be taking over the Ruby Lounge with incendiary homegrown four piece Embers on Wednesday 20th November, while Scottish Rachel Sermanni will be headlining Liquid Room in Edinburgh on Saturday 23rd November.

War Child’s 20 years of collaboration with the music industry, combined with Tune Hotels’ appeal to gig goers and commitment to serving the underserved, makes them perfect partners in the creation of “TuneUp”. Each artist has been handpicked for the festival line up due to their link with the local area and cutting edge talent.

The “TuneUp” identity demonstrates the progression of the Tune Hotels brand to connect with its core audience through something we can all relate to – the love and passion of music. By focusing on another lifestyle choice such as music, Tune Hotels is targeting an audience that have similar synergies and passions as their guests.

The partnership with War Child showcases Tune Hotel’s charity commitment and determination to align with a like-minded brand that has deep roots in music on both a local and global level. As the first recipient of the Special Recognition BRIT Award in February of this year, War Child is recognised as raising millions of pounds to help transform lives, and Tune Hotels are delighted to be part of this fund raising effort.

War Child CEO, Rob Williams said, “Tune Hotels totally understand the importance of what we do, and I think their guests will too. Children suffer terrible damage in war zones around the world from Afghanistan to Syria. War Child helps children to overcome their trauma and find their feet in a world turned upside down by violence. Music, musicians and audiences have always been a big source of energy for this work, and we are delighted that, with help from Tunes Hotels, we will be able to reach more children in crisis.”

Mark Lankester, Group CEO of Tune Hotels, commented: “I’m ecstatic to be working with such an established brand as War Child and that we are able to contribute to their objectives and charitable goals. I have a great passion for music, having worked in the music industry for over 15 years, and understand that this hugely popular medium touches on so many aspects of daily life. For Tune Hotels in particular, we will be able to interweave both local talent and local business to convey the synergies between the two brands of Tune Hotels and “TuneUp”.”

Working with a charity such as War Child shows a commitment to corporate social responsibility and the hotel chain is keen to continue working with, and building partnerships, with local communities and businesses in all seven countries in which they operate. The four chosen cities drill down to a more local level and were chosen to tie in with current hotel locations or a rich musical history.
