Peugeot’s bargainous and brilliant 206 GTi is now so cheap, it’s almost rude not to buy one! Even minty, well serviced cars are only around £1500, meaning in terms of hot-hatch ‘bang for buck’, the little Gallic go-kart is pretty much unbeatable. Making the best even better, suspension legend Eibach has a wide range of chassis enhancements for this brilliant platform, to endow it with giant-killing performance.

Two spring options are available to allow owners to select the drop that they need. As the 206 has a torsion bar rear end, the kits are front springs only, meaning the rear will need to be reset to match the drop by a suitably-skilled mechanic or specialist. The Pro-Kit lowers the car by 20-25mm up front, yet maintains ride comfort at almost factory levels thanks to the unique ‘progressive wind’ of its design -and the fact that each set is computer matched to work in perfect harmony with the OE dampers. The ‘Pro-Kit’ not only improves the look of the 206, but drastically reduces body roll and promotes more positive turn-in characteristics thanks to a lower centre of gravity. As with all Eibach products, the Pro-Kit fully conforms to all TUV regulations and comes with a class-leading 5 year warranty. Thanks to class leading levels of manufacturing quality and surface protection.

If that’s not low enough for your 206, then the Sportline kit should fit the bill – offering a healthy 35-40mm drop and a truly aggressive stance, once the rear bars have been appropriately set.

In each case, this new flatter stance will also have huge benefits when braking or accelerating, with the car’s reluctance to dive or squat drastically improving its braking and acceleration performance. The end result is a car that looks better, maintains comfort and carries far more cornering speed to provide useable performance in the real World.

Hub-centric wheel spacers complete the picture, both aesthetically and dynamically, and are available in a wide range of sizes. Each one is precision-machined from a solid aerospace aluminium billet and allows the adjustment of track and stance to perfection. Great for fitting other 4 x 108 aftermarket wheels, which are rarely in the Peugeot’s desired offset, or ideal for sitting the factory wheels and tyres perfectly in the arches to reduce load transfer under cornering and improve steering response.
