Pipercross ‘Evo 2’ fully enclosed cold air intake system

Filtration expert Pipercross has launched a superbly engineered Cold Air Intake System suitable for both fast road and motorsport use. Called the ‘Evo 2’, this carbon fibre and aluminium masterpiece draws heavily from the firm’s extensive BTCC experience, and uses much of the same technology and production techniques.

Thanks to a fully-sealed filtration chamber, the Evo2 insulates the induction tract from intense under-bonnet heat. By ducting cold air into the inlet, intake temperatures can be kept at optimum, increasing combustion efficiency and performance. Each unit can flow a minimum of 700bhp, making it suitable for high output and large displacement engines.

The Evo 2 has been designed to be a ‘no compromise’ solution for those needing to engineer a high-flowing induction solution to any high performance track or road machine. Construction wise, it’s all straight from the TOCA paddock; both the inlet and outlet are 100mm spun aluminium flanges, with the main body of the cold air chamber being made entirely from lightweight carbon fibre. Inside, a double-conical filter massively increases the amount of surface area on offer to an astounding 711.84 cm² , with a clever triple-layer foam composition that filters down finer than any OEM filter, whilst still offering a tangible increase in flow rate. The external surfaces all benefit from a smart, satin black powder coat, which will keep the exterior looking smart for years to come. The whole carbon exterior can also be removed for easy access to the filter element inside for regular cleaning, if required.
