Almost two thirds of Brits think the year ahead will be a good time to buy a new home and Lancashire buyers who have resolved to move in 2014 could be in luck.

Redrow’s introduction of brand new apartments at Buckshaw Village, near Chorley, extends the already varied choice of properties available.

Plus incentives such as Help to Buy equity loans mean dreams of owning a brand new home could soon become an affordable reality.

With consumer confidence growing, the new apartments are likely to attract keen interest from buyers. Redrow is holding a special preview event from 11am to 4pm this Saturday (January 11), when friendly, experienced sales consultants will be on hand to guide customers through the floor plans and help match them with their ideal home.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “Research from MORI on behalf of the Halifax suggests that the number of people who think it’s a good time to buy is on the up and now stands at 63%. We’ve certainly seen an increase in visitors to our various outlets at Buckshaw Village as people show a renewed confidence in the market.

“We’re already selling a good range of homes from our Heritage Collection, but recognise that some buyers want something smaller and more manageable either as a first home, because they’re making a fresh start or because they’re ready to downsize. Our new apartments will be perfect.

“We’re not quite ready to put our apartments on sale but, because of the anticipated demand, we will be taking what we call ‘early bird’ registrations. This will give prospective customers first refusal on their preferred property when it does come to the market.”

Between the various phases of Buckshaw Village, Redrow has a good choice of homes available to buy, from two-bedroom properties to substantial five-bedroom family homes and with current prices ranging from £149,995 to £519,995. Prices for the latest apartments will be made known at the weekend.

They’re all available with Help to Buy, the government scheme that allows customers to take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the price, interest free for five years.

“The MORI research also concluded that not being able to raise a deposit was becoming much less of a barrier to buying a home. Help to Buy is likely to have played a big part in that,” Claire adds.

“Customers who purchase a property with a Help to Buy equity loan only need a 5% deposit and a 75% mortgage to purchase their new home. For a two-bedroom home at Buckshaw Village the deposit might only be around £7,500.”

Early birds who want to secure an apartment should visit The Orchard from 11am to 4pm this Saturday (January 11).
