Launch of new homes in Farndon

Stave off the January blues with plans to move to a new home in an idyllic village setting amid the rolling Cheshire plains.

Featuring just 19 homes for private sale Fern Lean in Farndon will launch this weekend (January 18) when Elan Homes opens a sales office on site.

Prospective purchasers will be able to get a feel for the location and view the floor plans to help them decide which of the six styles of four-bedroom homes available best suits their lifestyle.

And, with property prices expected to continue their upward trend in the year ahead – the Office for Budget Responsibility, the Treasury forecaster, believes house prices will rise by 5.2% over the next 12 months – Elan is encouraging buyers to act now and reserve a new home at Fern Lea ‘off plan’.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, says: “We’re excited about the launch of Fern Lea as the homes have already attracted interest from dozens of people who are looking for a new home. As the housing market continues to recover we’re anticipating more people will be thinking of moving and we would like to invite them to come along and look at our designs and floor plans.

“Various experts are predicting further price increases in 2014 so those who reserve ‘off plan’ in the development’s early stages could soon find that the value of their new home has increased.

“Another advantage of buying now is that customers will have more to choose from, not only in terms of the style of home and its position within the development but also the options they’ll have to customise its interior.”

Astute home buyers who reserve ‘off plan’ can currently choose a four-bedroom detached Alston style family home at Fern Lea from £289,995.

Buyers can reduce the cost of owning one of these stylish properties with a Help to Buy equity loan. For example, with Help to Buy the Alston could be purchased for £231,996 including a 5% customer deposit. The remaining 20% share is covered by the equity loan, which is interest free for five years.

Open plan layouts in the homes at Fern Lea recognise that the kitchen is very much the focal point of family life. For example, the Oakham features a combined kitchen, family room and breakfast area, plus lounge and dining room; while the Woodhall combines the kitchen, dining room and family room and has a separate lounge, plus a study.

Each style of home will be finished to the same high standard with quality fixtures and fittings including integrated kitchen appliances such as oven, hob, microwave and fridge freezer. Master bedrooms benefits from fitted wardrobes and the modern day essential en-suite.

Located off Barton Road, Fern Lea will be accessed via a tree lined entrance, reflecting the semi-rural nature of the area. The homes will back on to open farm land, with potential for stunning countryside views.

Despite the tranquillity of the area, the village benefits from good local amenities including shops, a post office, doctor’s surgery, schools and a weekly country market.

There are some well-regarded restaurants and gastro pubs in the area. For those who want to enjoy a round of golf or other leisure activities, Carden Park Golf Resort is just a few minutes’ drive away.

Fern Lea is also within each reach of both Chester and Wrexham.

The sales office at Fern Lea opens next Saturday (January 18) at 10am.
