So you want to be a fashionista…

Fashion and style, where would we be without them? Badly dressed with no concept of what is trending probably. We constantly look to other people to make suggestions on what is fashionable, in terms of clothes, hobbies and activities, rather than making up our own minds.

Many of us have more natural style than we realise, so instead of following the crowd, why not begin your own trends? Become a style icon in your own right and have the confidence to be the leader of the pack. Stop using what other people think is cool and modern to inspire you. It is much more exciting to create your own style and put celebrity suggestions to one side.

Anything can become fashionable and it doesn’t have to be limited to clothes and hairstyles, it can be electronic items such as the shisha from companies such as www.eshishin.co.uk/ In recent months shishas have taken off in a massive way, all thanks to one person in a nightclub using one.

Since then hundreds of thousands of people have pounced on the trend and it’s now everywhere. It really is that simple. Just walking into a room with a unique handbag or an individual attitude can turn you into an icon.

So, you have decided that you want to become a stylist, a fashionista who guides others in the latest style statements, but how can you transform yourself from a sheep into shepherd?

You need to take your interests that one step further. Be the first to attend a relatively unknown restaurant, listen to a local band, be bold in your fashion sense and most of all don’t allow yourself to be restricted by what other people say. Always be one step ahead of the game. Although this sounds difficult, make sure you stay on top of what’s current and put your own spin on it. A true fashionista is an individual and will make something his or her own in anyway possible.

You can turn even the smallest item into an overnight phenomenon, it only takes one person to emulate you and another person to do the same to them and, before you know it, you are the inspiration for the latest trend.

Be appreciative of your own style and your own influence on others and ooze confidence.

Remember, it could take some time for certain things to take off, depending on what it is and how outrageous it may be, but if you stick with it you are guaranteed a certain amount of success. Being a fashionista shouldn’t be a chore, it should be fun and give you the opportunity to be creative with your own sense of style and the way you express yourself.
