Italian braking specialist Tarox has released details of its sublimely engineered braking enhancements for Nissan’s mighty R35 GT-R. These competition quality upgrades offer owners the chance to give their cars enough stopping power to match even the most fearsome of powertrain upgrades. Each new disc and pad fits exactly as per OE, offering a cost-effective replacement for the originals with much higher performance than the factory parts could hope to deliver.

For 2007 – 2011 cars, the kit is based around a pair of suitably substantial 380 x 34mm two-piece discs that come directly from Tarox’s motorsport division, complete with a custom two-piece bell and disc arrangement to ensure effective heat dissipation and high levels of retardation, even under heavy, repeated applications. Also available for these cars is a 380mm ‘disc only option that bolts on the OE bells for those looking for maximum performance at the best possible price. For the 2011 vehicles, Nissan themselves saw fit to up the ante to a 390mm front disc, so Tarox has also created a disc that precisely matches this requirement, too.

Rear discs have also been designed up to the same exacting standards, and these bolt directly to the existing OEM bells for a quick and simple fitment.

The perfect discs need pads to match of course, and here, Tarox has created a set of devastatingly effective alternatives using its ‘Corsa’ pad material. This well-proven formulation is perfect for cars that are driven on both road and track, offering superb feel and bite at cold temperatures, with a reassuringly consistent pedal and modulation, even when under the rigours of track work.

For the final finishing flourish – and an insane amount of confidence when driving on the limit, Tarox has also created a set of competition quality stainless steel braided lines, which when fitted and filled with the firm’s RoadRace fluid, make brake fade a distant memory. Godzilla may still be the most feared of monsters in Japan… but not in Italy…
