Prospective buyers and home owners are being invited to a special event to find out how they can take that first step onto the property ladder or move up a rung with only a small deposit.

Help to Buy Wales is a government scheme that means house hunters can buy a Redrow new home in Buckley, Penymynydd or Hawarden with just a 5% deposit.

Visitors to the four Redrow developments in these areas on February 22/23 will be able to talk to experts and find out more about the scheme and how it can help them secure a brand new home.

Anita Williams, sales director for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “Help to Buy Wales is giving first time buyers and families a vital boost. We’ve been experiencing high demand so far and we’d like to invite more people to come and take advantage of this easy way to buy. At the same time visitors can take a look at our homes and see what financial options are available to them.

“There is a wide selection of homes available in Flintshire from Redrow’s award-winning Heritage Collection, which combines traditional exteriors with modern interiors, to the chic and contemporary Abode collection, with its highly specified open-plan living space. There is something for everyone whether it’s a first-time purchase or families wishing to upsize. And, thanks to Help to Buy, these homes are now within reach.”

For instance, at Heathlands, a collection of three and four-bedroom homes priced below the £300,000 maximum threshold are available under the scheme.

One of the designs at the venture, the four-bedroom detached ‘Oxford’, boasts attractive gardens, an open-plan kitchen and dining room and a price tag of just £247,995.

Available through Help to Buy, this same home could be purchased for just £198,396 and a 5% deposit of just £9947. Purchasers would then cover the remaining costs with up to a 20% equity loan from the Welsh Government, interest free for five years, and a 75% mortgage from a lender of choice.

The Help to Buy weekend will be at Heathlands and Abode in Buckley, Heritage Park in Penymynydd, and Gladstone Leigh in Hawarden from 10am to 5.30pm.
