According to research from Lloyds Banking Group nearly half of homeowners planning to sell their property in the next three years said they would like to downsize, citing reduction of household bills and supporting retirement plans as their main reasons. However downsizing doesn’t have to mean moving to a smaller home and many purchasers at Bellway Homes’ Cromwell Fields development have found that they can downsize but still live in a spacious, energy efficient new home.

Cromwell Fields is a collection of attractive 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes in the village of Great Waldingfield, Suffolk. The homes have been thoughtfully designed with high specification touches that make day-to-day living easier, such as fitted kitchens, gas central heating and Roca sanitary ware to the bathrooms.

Speaking about downsizers buying at the development, Gemma Bannister, sales manager at Bellway Homes Essex said: “A significant number of purchasers at Cromwell Fields have downsized to a 3 or 4 bedroom home without having to compromising on space. The new homes are much more energy efficient than older properties, helping purchasers to keep their household bills down. Bellway also offers purchasers the option to use the Express Mover or Part Exchange packages, making the whole process of moving home as smooth as possible.”
