Help to Buy lends buyers a hand in Audenshaw

Help to Buy equity loans are proving popular at Parklands in Audenshaw where 43% of customers have benefitted from the Government backed scheme.

And as the development nears a sell-out with just two properties available, Elan Homes is keen to bust some of the myths about Help to Buy.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, says: “While we’ve had great success with Help to Buy at Parklands we are still finding that people either don’t know about the scheme or they mistakenly believe that they aren’t eligible. Some think it’s only for first time buyers, when that’s not the case – it can also be used to help people move up the housing ladder to a larger home, even if they have limited equity in their current property.”

With Help to Buy customers can purchase a new build house with just a 5% deposit and should be able to access lower rates from their lender, given they will only require a 75% mortgage.

“Someone buying a four-bedroom home at Parklands for £249,995 could reduce the initial cost by £50,000 by taking out a Help to Buy equity loan,” Marie adds.

“The exceptional thing about it is that the loan is interest free for five years – an offer not available from banks or mortgage providers. It really is a great and deal and with just two homes remaining time is of the essence – those who wait could soon find they’ve left it too late.”

There are two styles of four-bedroom homes available at Parklands – the Hebden priced at £249,995 or £199,995 with Help to Buy and the Southwold for £259,995 or an initial outlay of £207,995 with the equity loan scheme.

Both house styles come complete with contemporary fitted kitchens, including a built-in oven and hob, in addition to eye-catching bathroom suites, with a choice of wall tiles.

Located on Audenshaw Road, with a primary school within walking distance, the homes at Parklands are ideally placed for families.

It’s also well suited to commuters as Manchester city centre is just a short journey away by road or rail thanks to easy access to the motorway network and a Metrolink stop in nearby Droylsden.

To find out more about Help to Buy, visit Parklands, open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm.
