Aberdeen will has a new jewel in its crown with the eagerly anticipated re-opening of The Chester Hotel.

Aimed at the five star hotel, dining and entertaining market, The Chester Hotel combines the original features of its stunning 19th century listed building on the city’s famous Queen’s Road with luxurious contemporary design.

Following a complete refurbishment, the newly extended premises boasts an exceptional restaurant, bar, private dining rooms, 54 bedrooms - including two suites, and a gym. A beauty room will open to residents and non-residents in April, and a function room for weddings and dinners for up to 300 people, plus conferences for up to 500 delegates, will also open in mid-April.

The Hotel’s magnificent IX restaurant, led by Savoy-trained executive chef, Kevin Dalgleish will seat 90 diners, serving the finest Scottish food and drink, while the more relaxed but equally stylish lounge bar will serve premium whisky, spirits from around the world, cocktails, Champagne, fine wines and beers. Remarkably, The Chester Hotel will also serve its very own beer, The Chester Brew.

Afternoon tea guests will also be able to enjoy the most delicate confections created by the hotel’s specialist pastry chefs.

The Chester Hotel is the latest venture of hoteliers Graham and Gillian Wood, and builds on their notable success The Chester Residence in Edinburgh, which was recently named TripAdvisor’s top UK and European Luxury Hotel and its top UK Small Hotel for the second year running.

Graham Wood says: “We are looking forward immensely to unveiling The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen and believe it is an exciting new addition to Aberdeen’s high end hotel, dining and entertaining scene. Above all else, however, our commitment is to exemplary service, which we shall take great pleasure in providing to the people of Aberdeen, business customers and guests from further afield.”

Kevin Dalgleish says: “IX Restaurant’s menu will make the very most of Scotland’s exceptional natural larder, offering a wide range of locally sourced fish, shellfish, prime meat, cheese, fruit and vegetables to create vivid and mouthwatering meals that suit all palates.

“Guests can choose their own fresh fish or meat from the IX Restaurant counter and watch every step as it is prepared ‘theatre style’ on the Josper grill, a state-of-the-art oven, which keeps meat tender and juicy, intensifies its natural taste, and is the envy of many of the UK’s best kitchens.

“The lounge bar will also serve lighter dishes including classic favourites, salads and platters to share.”
