A combination of increased confidence in the property market, the availability of Help to Buy and pent up demand for new homes have given Barratt Homes’ development in Bodmin a boost.

Sales director Lee Monk said the development has seen increased activity and sales in recent weeks with the range of homes and low cost options attracting a wide range of local buyers and people looking to relocate to Canyke Meadows.

“Latest housing market reports have been extremely optimistic and that together with Help to Buy is giving people the confidence to come in and make 2014 the year to move,’’ he said.

The government backed scheme is helping first time buyers and those moving up the housing ladder make a move with just a 5% deposit.

The government will lend up to 20 per cent of the value of the property as an equity loan which can be repaid at any time, or on the sale of your home. This means buyers need only secure a 75 per cent mortgage leaving just a 5% deposit to secure a new home.

Current availability at Canyke Meadows includes a range of two and three bedroom homes with prices from £116,000.
