Ionian Villas – which offers holidays to the islands of Paxos, Corfu, Lefkas, Ithaca, Kefalonia and Meganissi – is enjoying a good start to the year and seeing particular interest in the larger villas that it has within its portfolio, especially for the peak weeks of the school holidays.

Comments David Watrous, Director of Ionian Villas: “Whilst there are many hundreds of great villas throughout the Greek islands and the coastal resorts on mainland Greece, there are relatively few large properties for big families or groups.

“We managed to find seven new large villas to add to our programme for this year on five of the Ionian Islands that we offer and I strongly advise early booking to avoid disappointment.”

Here are some of Ionian Villas’ larger properties that still have availability:

Efkalyptos on Kefalonia is a six-bedroomed (6 bathrooms) property sleeping 16 with views over the sea to Zakynthos and close to the sleepy village of Spartia. It has a large private pool and a tennis court. The sandy beach is 2 minutes’ drive away and a week’s rental in July costs £5380 (£337 pp when fully occupied).

The Manor House is a grandiose property on Corfu. The five-bedroomed mid-18th Century house is regarded as one of the most unique retreats on the entire island and is regularly rented by heads of state and film stars (the visitors’ book makes interesting reading). The house has great views and is hidden away amongst five hillside acres of citrus orchards, olive groves and cypress trees above the port of Benitses. A week’s rental in July costs £4440 (£440 pp when fully occupied).

Katerina on Lefkas is a four bedroomed villa set on a hillside of olive, pine and cypress trees above the east coast between Lefkas Town and Nikiana. The small port of Ligia, with two excellent fish tavernas, is just a 2 minute drive below and the nearby stretch of coastline contains a series of gently shelving beaches. The villa has modern comforts, stylish furnishings and spacious living areas both inside and out and all rooms have balconies and terraces with views across the sea to the Greek mainland. A week’s rental in July costs £4350 (£544 pp when fully occupied).
