Little gifts mums will love this Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is very nearly upon us. Yes, that’s right, that one day each year when we reward our mum for all the hard work she does during the other 364 days of the year is next weekend.

Whilst we all want to treat our mums, choosing the right present can be notoriously difficult. It’s not a question of price; it is a question of thought, and that is where most of us struggle. So, here are some gift ideas that should really please your mum and make her day that extra bit special.

Going out for a meal is great but cooking a special meal for your mum is a far more heartfelt gesture. Her watching on as you slave over a stove all day is going to make her really happy! You can cater your three course meal to suit her favourite dishes and exact tastes, something that you won’t be able to do easily at a restaurant, especially with the limitations of Mother’s Day set menus.

Don’t opt for the easy option and take her out. Put some blood, sweat, and tears into it (not literally!) and not only will she find it touching, but you will find it really fulfilling and rewarding.

Baking Utensils

The Great British Bake Off has captivated Britain over the last few years; more than 8 million people tuned in for the final in 2013. Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood are now household names. So, if you or your mum happens to be a huge Bake Off fan, why not surprise her with some baking utensils?

Baking utensils would be a great gift; showing that you take an interest in what your mum enjoys will go down really well. Even better, you will reap the rewards of your mother’s newfound love of baking, and if we’re honest, who doesn’t like fresh scones twice a week?! Argos have numerous baking utensils for sale, both online and in-store, and with Myvouchercodes you can save up to 50% on Mother’s Day gifts.

Danielle Steel

If your mother is a fan of reading, then look no further than Danielle Steel’s latest offering: “Until the End of Time”. This romantic novel has topped the New York Times bestseller list already this year and follows the lives of two couples. With a focus on love and fate, it is certainly going to be a page-turner. It is available in paperback from Waterstones for just £5.99, so it won’t break the bank.

If books aren’t exactly your mum’s cup of tea, why not opt for pictures? Pictures have always been a favourite with mums, so why not assemble your own photo album? A picture speaks a thousand words and if you make a touching photo album of you and your mum’s best moments it will undoubtedly end in tears of happiness.

Rod Stewart

A gift doesn’t have to be something that needs to be enjoyed straightaway. In fact, some of the best gifts are experiences that your mother has to wait a while for. For instance, if she is a big Rod Stewart fan, why not try and get her tickets to see him? Sites such as TicketMaster usually have very reasonable deals for gigs.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is no set present that any child should give to their mother on that special day. However, one thing is for sure: we should treat our mums as much as we can. They are, after all, the most important people in our lives.
