The Anchor

Set on the bank of the picturesque river Cam, in the historic city of Cambridge, the recently refurbished Anchor pub offers a fresh dining experience in a welcoming and convivial atmosphere. Split into three distinct areas, the pub, dining room and river terrace, The Anchor has something to suit every occasion.

Serving seasonal food using locally sourced ingredients, the 60 cover dining room with open kitchen pass offers a refreshing alternative to the usual ‘pub grub’. Highlights from the menu include: Spiced root vegetables, quinoa, date sauce, pumpkin seeds; Braised rabbit, haricot beans, pancetta, mustard vinaigrette; Roast Hampshire pork belly, kale, duck, tomato, bean cassoulet and Pan fried Sea bass fillet, confit fennel, mash, dried tomato, anchovy & basil dressing.

The Anchor offers a variety of carefully selected craft beers and real ales, and they pride themselves on supporting the best of Cambridge’s local brewers. The extensive wine list has been thoughtfully put together to demonstrate a variety of grapes and regions and offer incredible value.

The interior features lovely warm woods that add to the inviting ambience of The Anchor, with a balanced colour scheme that flows throughout. Wooden mismatched tables and chairs give an eclectic air to the dining area, while leather banquette seating adds to the cosy atmosphere, creating space that can be used for both dining and a casual drink among friends.

During the summer, the stunning location lends itself to al fresco dining, which guests can enjoy whilst watching punters drift by on the river Cam. The Anchor also offers fresh food and drink to take away whatever the weather.
