Cherry and Elderflower Sundae

It's Elderflower season and this cocktail contains crisp, clean Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka combined with tangy cherry juice, elderflower syrup and for a fresh twist, wild elderflowers.  Partner with fresh strawberries and a squeeze of lime, to make the ideal drink for the longer, brighter days.

Try serving with a goat’s cheese salad garnished with strawberries and roasted walnuts.

Ingredients for 1:

35ml Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
(NB: Don’t have a measure? 1 UK desert spoon equals 10ml)
100ml. Cherry Juice
10ml. Elderflower Syrup / Coridal
10ml. Lime Juice
4piece(s) Strawberries
1.26 units of alcohol per serve
Sprig of elderflower

Instructions:

1. Throw three strawberries into a jam jar. Squash the strawberries with the back of a teaspoon to extract the juices and flavour.

2. Add the Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka, cherry juice, elderflower syrup or cordial and lime juice – add some ice and put the top to the jar on.

3. Shake until you can’t shake anymore… or until the jar is chilled.

4. Pour through a strainer over ice into a tall glass or sundae glass. (you can use a sieve if you don’t have a smaller strainer)

5. Garnish with a strawberry cut into slices.

Grapefruit Smash

Grapefruits are not just for breakfast. Their unique combination of sweet and sour flavours means they work amazingly in salads, desserts and drinks this time of year.

This mix of bittersweet marmalade with pure, clear Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka and a dash of citrus make a perfect fruit smash – and you can use the marmalade jar to serve it in.

If you’re making this cocktail with fresh juice, red grapefruit is sweeter. This cocktail is ideal served up with a tray of cool, sliced cucumber, celery and fresh vinaigrette.

50ml. Smirnoff No. 21 Vodka
(NB: Don’t have a measure? 1 UK desert spoon equals 10ml)

1 Mint leaf
1 slice of Lemon

Instructions:

1. Pour the Smirnoff No.21 Vodka and lemon juice into a glass/jam jar. Add two dollops of marmalade.

4. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a sprig of mint.
