A rare opportunity to own a spacious townhouse in Cambridge city centre has been unveiled by leading UK housebuilder, Berkeley Homes.

Kingsley Walk, the final phase of the Cambridge Riverside development, offers ten luxury four and five bedroom homes. Each offers between 2,500 – 3,000 sq. ft. of liveable space over three or four storeys, with an additional private garden, making these properties almost a third larger than the average British home.

Interiors will be finished to the standard which has become synonymous with Berkeley, with light-filled, open plan living spaces lending itself to a modern lifestyle. These homes will also provide the ultimate in luxury and sophistication with ALNO fitted kitchens, dressing rooms to the master bedroom, an informal living room on the ground floor and a further formal living room on the first floor. Residents will also benefit from parking for two cars plus cycle storage, a fully-equipped on-site gym and a concierge service.

Each home also boasts state-of-the-art technology, including a Sonos sound system linked to the kitchen, living room, master bedroom and master en suite. With under floor heating throughout, a utility room, garage, and a study/cinema room (four bedroom houses only), all modern tastes and comforts are catered for.

Cambridge is an attractive area in which to own a property and with Savills predicting that property prices will rise by over 20% in the next five years , now is also a perfect time to purchase for a medium to long term investment.

Savills’ Director of Residential Development Sales, Toby Greenhow, adds: “These homes are just what the market has been waiting for as most new development in Cambridge has, understandably, been apartment-led. We have not seen dedicated new luxury houses of this quality or scale in the centre of Cambridge for a generation. The level of interest in them reflects the huge demand for what is a genuinely unique offer for the area.”

Cambridge Riverside is on the edge of a lively city centre, offering two shopping centres as well as an array of boutiques, restaurants, cafés and bars. Midsummer Common and the River Cam are also located on the doorstep of this development.

Tina Dedman, Sales and Marketing Director for Berkeley Homes, comments: “We recognise that there is a huge demand for expansive homes in central Cambridge and these new townhouses offer the extra space which is so in demand.

“Cambridge is an extremely desirable area for prospective buyers and following the popularity of the initial phases of Cambridge Riverside, Kingsley Walk offers a fresh chance for future homeowners to secure a high-specification property in a sought-after location. The townhouses have already sparked a huge amount of interest, so I would encourage buyers to act swiftly.”

Plans to extend Cambridge’s railway network have recently been revealed, with a second railway station due to be built near the Cambridge Science Park, the latest pharmaceutical and tech hub of the UK. It is set to serve nearly 3,000 commuters across Cambridge, and to destinations further afield, each day. Cambridge is also ideal for London commuters, as the city is under an hour’s travel time to both London King’s Cross and Liverpool Street stations.

The development also has excellent regional connections, including to Stansted Airport. By road, the M11 is only a short drive away which gives direct access to the M25 in the South and leads via the A14 to the A1 (M) in the North.

Kingsley Walk is due for completion in spring 2014, with a show home scheduled to open in January 2014. Prices start from £1.3m. For further information, visit cambridgeriverside.co.uk.
