Plans have been unveiled for a major new leisure attraction in Nottingham city centre, giving both children and adults the chance to become a real life action hero.

Spy-themed action adventure centre Si5 Spy Missions is set to open in May, occupying a 10,000 sq ft unit on Rick Street. The site becomes the company’s fourth venue in the country, and its first in the Midlands, bringing a total of 30 new jobs to the city.

The Si5 Spy Missions experience is based on an action story set onboard a state of the art battle cruiser called UNS Steadfast. Visitors must work as a team to complete a series of challenges in order to prevent a group of insurgents from launching the onboard nuclear missiles.

The centre is split into 16 different rooms, over two levels, each containing a physical, dexterity or mental challenge that must be completed before moving on to the next stage. Teams face up to five of the 16 challenges as part of each adventure, meaning that every visit is unique.

Si5 Spy Missions is the creation of Bob Richardson, who developed his unique ideas for his own children’s birthday parties and was urged by other families to make the concept available to the public.

“It started with me setting spy-based treasure trails for my children and their friends and it just snowballed from there,” commented Bob.

“We’re able to offer a unique experience and children come back time and time again. Just like our other locations, Nottingham will also have a café, making it the ideal place for parties.

“However, the centre isn’t just for young people. We can easily change the difficulty settings of the missions to suit big kids too. Our existing venues already attract corporate team building groups, stag and hen parties and groups of friends and we fully expect this to happen in Nottingham too.”

As creative director Bob explains, Nottingham was the standout location when his management team started looking to expand into the Midlands:

“When we visited, we felt that the city had a real energy about it. It was also great to be able to find the space that we needed right in the heart of the city centre, rather than in an out-of-town industrial park.

“We are about to start the recruitment process, with five full-time and up to 25 part-time vacancies available. We’re looking forward to building our team and becoming part of Nottingham’s vibrant leisure scene.”

Si5 Spy Missions also has venues in Milton Keynes, Northampton and Cambridge.
