Buyers are being urged to hurry if they want to live at an exclusive housing development in Devon as more than a quarter of the homes have been reserved since the start of the year.

People are so impressed with the design of the properties being built by Persimmon Homes South West that they are buying their dream home off plan without even setting a foot in the house.

The regional builder is creating the development of just 18 homes at Lauder Mews, in the market town of Crediton, and has been delighted by the response from buyers.

Nina Hester, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes South West, said: “We are urging buyers to hurry or miss out as Lauder Mews is proving incredibly popular.

“People are rushing to snap up a home there, which says something for the design of the development and the homes. With more than a quarter of the homes reserved already, all the signs are there that the development will quickly turn into a lovely new community.”

Lauder Mews, in George Hill, boasts a selection of attractive four-bedroom homes. It enjoys the best of both worlds benefitting from the beautiful surrounding coastline and bustling local attractions. The Exmouth coast is only a 45 minute drive away, while Dartmoor National Park is only 20 minutes away.

The quaint market town also has great transport links with a railway station, offering direct access routes to London, Exeter and the South West rail routes. It is also close to the A366, A377 and the M5.

Nina added: “It is easy to see why Lauder Mews is popular with a wide variety of people including families, young professionals and downsizers.”

Sales advisors are on hand at the development to advise people on the latest schemes that are available to help them buy their dream home, such as Help to Buy or Part Exchange.

Nina explained: “The Government-backed Help to Buy scheme has proved popular with our buyers. It is a fantastic scheme that is really helping people get on or move up the property ladder.

“Help to Buy is a Government-backed shared equity scheme. People only need a 5% deposit and it provides a 20% loan on the term of a mortgage, which is interest and repayment free for the first five years.

“Home Change is also available and, if you are eligible, we arrange at least two valuations, agree a market price and use our expertise to help sell your existing property, with all estate agency fees paid. Help to Buy is also available with Home Change. We can also Part Exchange as we aim to take away the stress of selling your own home.”
