Buying a home usually tops the list of the most important decisions people make in life, so a leading house builder in West Yorkshire is doing all it can to eliminate the hassles in the process.

Persimmon Homes said that buying a new build property at one of its stunning developments in Bradford will make life much easier when making the big decision.

Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire’s sales director, Simon Whalley, said: “A recent study has indicated that more and more house hunters in the UK are looking for a home that is ready for them to move straight into.

“Many people prefer to a purchase a home that doesn’t require considerable amounts of alterations and with our Blossom Meadows and Sunningdale Park developments in Bradford and a new site in Odsal opening soon, we have plenty of properties to make the big move easier for them.”

Research from leading financial services comparison website, Gocompare.com, revealed that a whopping 81 per cent of house hunters would be put off from investing in a property if it needed considerable renovation before it met their requirements for habitability.

Instead, buyers are increasingly looking to move straight in to a new home and enjoy the comforts of modern living without the hassle of having work carried out.

Energy efficiency is another reason people prefer to buy new. The study highlighted that 34 per cent of people found new-builds to be well insulated and cheaper to heat than older equivalents.

Simon said: “While these are just a few of the advantages of buying a new build property, the potential to save such a large amount of money per year could mean the difference between buying a small home and your forever home.

“There are plenty of other reasons to buy new; such as first-rate loft insulation, draft free double glazed windows and doors, no upward chain and a 10-year insurance backed warranty from the NHBC. So we welcome customers to visit our Bradford sites to see what we have to offer.”

The company also praised the success of the Government’s Help to Buy as it celebrates its first anniversary, claiming the scheme has seen thousands of people not only get on the property ladder, but to jump a few steps and get a larger property than they had envisioned.

Simon added: “Over the past year we have seen a number of young people take the plunge and purchase their first home, many of whom had feared they would never raise a big enough deposit to get onto the property ladder.

“Where traditionally a first home would usually be an apartment or a small house, the low-deposit aspect of the scheme has allowed first time buyers to skip a few steps to purchase their ‘forever home’ straight away, saving them the hassle and money of moving more than once in the process.”

Persimmon Homes’ Blossom Meadows development in Woodside, Sunningdale Park development in Thornton and the impending Rooley Park development in Odsal offer a wide range new properties all available with the Help to Buy scheme.
