One of Bristol’s leading four-star hotels has broken into the top ten rankings of places to stay in the city.

According to Trip Advisor, the world’s leading online review website, DoubleTree by Hilton, Bristol City Centre is now sitting at the top table of venues for visitors and business people when staying over in Bristol.

Located on Redcliffe Way, the rise in ranks of the city-centre hotel comes just one year after it benefitted from a £5 million refurbishment.

With occupancy levels hitting record highs, the decision to invest in the property is clearly paying off. Helped further by this latest ranking, the management team are now looking forward to a busy summer and improving further the position of the hotel on the renowned website.

Reflecting the venue’s growing popularity and destination of choice for visitors to the city the popularity of the venue has also prompted bosses to accelerate plans to create five additional conference rooms, along with another five bedrooms, increasing the hotel’s total capacity to 206 rooms which they hope to get underway before the year is out.

John Dowling, General Manager at the hotel said: “It’s great news to be regarded as one of the best hotels in the city. If the rankings were based on just city centre venues, then the position of the hotel would be even higher!

“What makes it more pleasing is the fact that the ranking is based on independent reviews of people who have stayed here. We’ve worked very hard to provide great customer service and accommodation that reflects the growing need to provide facilities that matches the city’s ambitions.”

Close to Temple Meads station and the fast expanding Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone the hotel is viewed as being a key asset in the city’s development as a nationally recognised business hub. It has also attracted a lot of tourist visitors looking for quality accommodation and one that is easy to get to.

John added: “Businesses are feeling a little more confident following the economic upturn and we’re seeing a rise in tourism and those visiting the city for weekend breaks. As we enter the busiest time for Bristol with the numerous festivals and events I think we can look forward to a bright future.

“Our goal is to achieve a better ranking and rise up the table to eventually become number one.”
