Heliot Steak House

Suspended above the hustle and bustle of The Hippodrome Casino, in the midst of London’s West End, sits Heliot Steak House, a well-kept secret and where you will find the best value USDA prime steaks in London. The Hippodrome was first established as a popular entertainment destination when it opened in January 1900, it was home to beloved stars and characters, including one of the early performers, the alluring lion tamer Claire Heliot; the restaurant is named in her legacy.

Heliot Steak House is operated by The ONE Group. Chef director Barry Vera has developed an affordable menu of USDA prime steaks, mains and grill dishes, complimented by elegant starters, a variety of sides and a selection of sumptuous desserts.

The top quality steak served at the restaurant is 28 day custom-aged USDA prime beef; undoubtedly the highlight of the menu, available in nine cuts, ordered according to preferred portion size and available at incredible prices. A wide variety of sauces and extras are available, allowing diners to truly customise their cooked-to-order steak to their desired taste.

To begin the meal, light starters include seared scallops with celeriac, crispy prosciutto; brûléed chicken liver paté with apple & saffron chutney, toasted brioche and smoked salmon with quails egg, horseradish, watercress salad. In addition to steak, a selection of mains features fish and vegetarian options alongside meaty plates such as sticky short-rib, spicy wings with bourbon glaze, red cabbage slaw. Further dishes from the grill include surf and turf - fillet steak with Scottish scallops, grilled prawn and the Heliot Burger with dill pickle, dry cured bacon, Monterey jack cheese. As expected from a Steak House, a wide variety of side dishes complement the steaks and mains, the star of the side-show being “the world’s favourite side dish”: Millionaire’s mac & cheese with poached duck egg, truffle. A short but sweet dessert menu is inspired by much-loved classics, including signature dishes such as twice baked apple and blackberry crumble and pavlova and passion fruit curd, a selection of British cheeses with oatcakes and chutney is available for those with a savoury palate.

While the Heliot Steak House has an extensive list of wines and Champagnes, the talented team behind the Heliot bar is also trained in the art of making fine cocktails. The cocktail list includes long drinks including Pretty Pretty Bang Bang: Smirnoff black, fresh blueberries, grenadine topped with Red Bull, Martinis such as Love & Passion: Bombay Sapphire, limoncello, blue curacao, passion fruit and Prosecco based drinks include Le Fizz: Grey Goose, st. germain liqueur, fresh lime juice topped with scavi & ray Prosecco. Classic cocktails and popular drinks can also be mixed-up off-menu.

With views overlooking the lively casino floor, an evening at Heliot Steak House is a unique dining experience at a restaurant like no other. Amidst the glamour and drama of The Hippodrome, dinner, drinks and a wealth of entertainment can be encountered under one roof. The Heliot bar is one of six, and a 180-seat theatre hosts the best in jazz, swing, soul, cabaret and burlesque nightly. The casino offers three floors of gaming, a designated poker deck, and learn-to-play sessions are available for the novice gambler. Recently opened Lola’s Underground Casino and bar, on the lower ground floor of the Hippodrome, brings together gaming and entertainment with go-go dancers performing in a central ‘tiger cage’ among the roulette and blackjack tables. Lola's is a first in the UK bringing entertainment and gaming together onto the one floor - this has never been done before.

Dining at the Heliot Steak House is a highlight amongst an evening of guaranteed thrills at the Hippodrome, a 24 hour destination: so the fun never has to end!
