How to win with little to no change to your lifestyle

It can be very hard at times to get yourself out of a slump, improve your fortune or flip your luck on its head. It can often feel like a daunting task with little reward, but in contrast the greatest rewards come once your mind-set and your approach to your day to day tasks is a consistently positive one. Simply turning your fortune around won’t change things immediately, but retaining belief and confidence in yourself with pay dividends in the weeks that follow.

The first change that must be applied is your approach to day to day choices and activities. It is increasingly common for people to shy away from decisions on important things, either to delay the task altogether or to force someone else to take control of situations. That will be touched upon soon enough, but for the most part a simple belief in one’s ability to make a positive decision or a decisive action can prove integral to how a day, week or month of a person’s life can go. Start off small, by making decisions on what your family will eat for dinner, for example and then build onto more important stuff, such as financial investments or other life altering endeavours. Although it is important to retain caution and composure, a greater hold over the goings on in your life will give you a much more positive feeling and even offer up ample opportunities for success, some of which would not have been found otherwise.

Once you have retained you self-belief, it might be wise to get creative, either at the workplace or at home. The DIY project you have been meaning to get round to for a while now could prove the ideal task, or for the more professionally-driven people out there a few more sparks of creative idea in the workplace could offer you the chance of praise and even promotion. Remember though, not all of your ideas will be perfect and criticism will come naturally, it is how you adapt to the advice that defines success.

The third and final tip is to stick to your guns. Even with the help and advice of others, sometimes your ideas will be good as they are and it is important to know when to remain consistent, rather than comply with the changes that other people want to see. Don’t be closed-minded all the time however, as people may become dismissive, but the ability to retain your beliefs in spite of feedback and criticism can prove crucial times. Imagine you have £100 and are willing to stake it on a roulette wheel. There have been five black number-spins in a row and you fancy one more black number to come up. Most people may tell you that it is destined to be a red number, but with each spin of the wheel entirely random, neither of you can know for sure what the outcome will be. So who knows, sometimes it is best to stick with what you believe in and who knows, you might win, lose or even hit middle ground (the real reason why a 0 is on the roulette wheel!) but whatever the outcome, take heart and don’t dwell.
