Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is inviting house-hunters to discover why Telford has been voted one of the 10 happiest places to live in the UK by securing a stunning home at its Badgers Rise development in the town.

Telford was praised by residents for its affordability, while homeowners also said that they were happy with the decor of their properties in the Happy at Home study, carried out by property website Rightmove.

There is a fantastic range of stylish new three and four-bedroom homes currently available to buy at Badgers Rise, with prices starting from as little as £140,500.

What’s more, the Help to Buy equity loan scheme means savvy homebuyers could find securing their ideal place is even easier and more affordable than they might have imagined.

Elaine Taylor, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Rightmove’s study confirmed what we already knew – that Telford is a fantastic place to set up home!

“The Badgers Rise is the latest phase of the innovative Telford Millennium Village, benefits from excellent transport links and is just three miles from the shops, restaurants and entertainment in Telford town centre.

“I would encourage anyone who’d like to snap up a property at Badgers Rise to come and visit us as soon as possible – and find out how happy a home here could make them!”

Sharmaine Wall bought a home at Taylor Wimpey’s The Meadows development, also part of the Telford Millennium Village, with her husband Andrew and their three children.

She says: “We visited the development, thinking we’d never be able to afford a brand new four-bedroom house, especially one that’s detached – but that’s exactly what we’ve got!

“We used financial advisors recommended by Taylor Wimpey and they were just brilliant. After speaking to them we realised we really could afford our dream home.”

There is currently a choice of homes on sale at Badgers Rise, including three-bedroom houses priced from just £140,500 and four-bedroom properties from as little as £179,995.

The four-bedroom ‘Midford’ detached house, for example, is priced from £187,995 and features a dual-aspect living room and a good-sized kitchen/dining room, opening through French doors to the private rear garden. A utility room and a guest cloakroom complete the ground-floor layout.

Upstairs, the landing leads to an en-suite master bedroom, three further bedrooms and a main bathroom, while outside there’s also a garage and parking.

Under Help to Buy, eligible first-time buyers and existing homeowners can secure a Government loan for 20% of the full price of their new home – meaning they only require a 75% loan-to-value mortgage and a 5% deposit.

Help to Buy is available on new-build properties up to the value of £600,000 and there is no salary cap for homebuyers taking advantage of the scheme.

Badgers Rise forms part of the wider Telford Millennium Village, an innovative development created in partnership with the Homes and Communities Agency and the borough of Telford & Wrekin.

The settlement is designed to be sustainable, ensuring it will include safe places for children to play, a community centre and fantastic public transport links.

The development is ideally placed to take advantage of the region’s travel network, with junction 6 of the M54 close by, for quick links to the M6 and M6 Toll to Staffordshire and Birmingham and the A5 for Shrewsbury.

To find out more about why Badgers Rise in Telford is an ideal place to set up home, house-hunters can visit the Sales and Marketing Suite, located in Ketley Park Road, off Holyhead Road, and open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5pm.
