A new phase of homes for first-time buyers and families has been released for sale at Berry Edge in Consett.

There is a mix of three and four bedroom houses in seven different designs, at prices starting from £129,995.

All are from Barratt North East’s County Range of homes, which include features such as open-plan kitchen and dining rooms, and floor-to-ceiling glazed bays which fill living spaces with natural light.

Buyers reserving at an early stage of construction will have the opportunity to choose flooring, furnishings, appliances and extras from the Barratt Choices range, to personalise their new home in exactly the way they want.

Fenton Hewitt, Sales Director at Barratt North East, said: “For many people the appeal of buying brand new is having a blank canvas, ready for them to create their perfect home.

“Buyers have previously had very few choices available to them, however our Choices range offers a huge selection, everything from carpets to toothbrush holders, and the opportunity to change or upgrade their specification.

“Now our customers can choose their preferred fixtures and fittings, which will be installed before they move in, leaving them free to enjoy their new home from day one.”

Barratt Homes, which was founded in Newcastle more than 50 years ago, recently announced the completion of its 400,000th home nationally.

To mark the milestone – and the launch of a new brand identity – an oak tree was planted at Berry Edge by Frank Bell, Chairman of Consett football club, and Neil Milburn, Development Director at Barratt North East. The housebuilder has entered into a sponsorship with the club for next season.

Reflecting the importance of green space and the ecology and biodiversity of new homes developments, the company will plant 400,000 trees and shrubs around the UK over the next 18 months.

Berry Edge sits high on the edge of the Pennines, next to the Derwent Walk, and enjoys beautiful views across the moors towards Stanhope.

A show village of five showhomes is open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm. For more information, visit barratthomes.co.uk.
