Jo Brand serves up An Extra Slice of Bake Off magic, in this brand new sister show for BBC Two.

Joined by three different celebrity Bake Off fans each week, Jo will shine a spotlight on the good, the bad and the soggy-bottomed from each week’s episode. There will be chat, unseen footage from the BBC One show and an interview with the week’s eliminated baker.

The studio audience will also be challenged to bring in a bake inspired by the week’s baking theme - be that bread, pastry or a cake - and viewers will be invited to share photos of their efforts too.

Jo Brand says: "I am absolutely delighted to have been asked to be part of An Extra Slice. As someone who obviously loves cakes but also, keeps a very strict eye on my figure and exercises assiduously to keep healthy, I hope I am a worthy candidate to represent the Borough Of Baking."

Kim Shillinglaw, Controller BBC Two says: “I’m delighted that Jo Brand will be serving up an extra helping of Bake Off on BBC Two, tackling the week’s events in her own inimitable style while also offering fans of the show a sneak preview into what’s coming up next.”

The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice will be shown weekly on BBC Two throughout the run of the BBC One series, which will go out on Friday nights at 9pm. It was commissioned for BBC Two by Kim Shillinglaw, Controller BBC Two; Emma Willis, Head of Commissioning, Documentaries; and Alan Tyler, Commissioning Editor Entertainment. It is being made by Love Productions, where it will be Executive Produced by Anna Beattie and Sharon Powers.
