Putting the Soul into your living space

Unique pieces of designer furniture made from reclaimed timber that was once part of old ships, and salvaged wood that had a previous life have been brought to a Bristol store.

Bristol’s Park Furnishers on Willway Street, Bedminster, is now stocking Scandinavian designed Soul products after spotting the brand’s unique style at a furniture show in Cologne.

With over 300 items in the range, including accessories, ornaments, soft furnishings and items for every room in the house, the range is aimed at giving people the opportunity to build a complete designer look in their homes.

It is a major coup for Bristol as Soul furniture is currently on sale exclusively in Dublin, Grimsby and Park Furnishers.

Paul Marshall marketing manager at Park Furnishers said: “Our buyers are constantly trawling furniture and interior design shows all over Europe to find the very best pieces to bring back to Bristol. This is a collection that we’re all very excited about and I think it marks a new chapter in Park Furnishers’ history.

“Inspired by journeys throughout the world, Soul is an eclectic collection of sofas, chairs, tables and accessories hand-picked to complement each other and create an overall look of carefree elegance. It’s a really simple collection but is visually very striking and I think regular visitors to Park Furnishers will be surprised by what they see.

“We have four ranges within the Soul collection and each one is set up as a room display, making it easier for customers to visualise how pieces could look in their homes.”

The Nordic range conjures images of the coast while the cosy Provence range is full of beautiful details in the table tops and capacious cabinets. The Lodge range is really unique with solid furniture and rustic detailing. This range brings with it a sense of charming country life while the Colonial range adds a flavour of the exotic to rooms.

Said Paul Marshall: “Soul is quite different to what we have previously been known for at Park Furnishers, but its quality craftsmanship and combination of contemporary and vintage style, I’m sure will appeal to our regular customers as well as any new clientele.”

Benny Nilsson, founder of Soul, said: “At the very heart of Soul lie the personal impressions and shared experiences gained over decades of travelling. We decided to bring the magic of this together into a collection of furniture styles that would remind us of the journeys we made and the places we love so much.

“We decided early on that the Soul furniture needed to convey that most important of feelings, the feel of authenticity. They have been crafted with the simple but essential idea - that genuinely good furniture lasts and can be shared by generations.

“Although the collection consists of meticulously handpicked individual products, they also share another common bond: the furniture in each style all fit beautifully together.”

Park Furnishers is Bristol’s largest furniture store, located just two minutes from Bristol Temple Meads. Founded in 1967, the store has become known for its choice, quality, service and price.
