There’s a superb selection of high-quality homes now on sale at Taylor Wimpey’s brand new Somerdale development in Keynsham, near Bristol.

This eagerly-awaited first phase, comprising a selection of luxury three, four and five-bedroom properties, is now open, while four stunning showhomes will be opening in September to give prospective purchasers a tantalising glimpse of the wonderful lifestyle they could be enjoying at the development.

The newly-released homes at Somerdale combine generous living space with high-quality design and offer exceptional value for money, with a choice of designs to suit a range of purchasers.

Among the first new homes now available to reserve off-plan at the development are the three-bedroom ‘Savy’, priced from £275,000, plus four-bedroom designs the ‘Avonfield’, priced from £385,000, the ‘Sentinel’, from £415,000, and the ‘Lodge’, priced from £450,000. The five-bedroom ‘Ruston’, meanwhile, is priced from £540,000.

Charlie Joseph, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Bristol, says: “We are delighted to unveil the first selection of new homes for sale at Somerdale, which is already generating a great deal of interest from savvy buyers looking for their ideal executive home.

“By acting now, home-hunters can be among the first to choose their favourite plot from this wonderful collection – and make sure someone else doesn’t beat them to it!

“What’s more, by reserving off-plan and choosing from our fantastic range of interior Options, they can ensure their property is completed to their personal specifications before they have even been handed the keys.”

The four-bedroom ‘Avonfield’ detached house is priced from only £385,000 and features a spacious triple aspect living room and an open-plan kitchen/dining room, both opening through French doors to the private rear garden, with a utility room and a guest cloakroom completing the ground-floor layout.

Upstairs, the landing leads to an en-suite master bedroom, three further double bedrooms and a main bathroom, while a garage and driveway parking for two cars can be found outside.

The new mixed-use development on the former Cadbury factory site is set to deliver up to 700 new homes, including a mix of apartments and houses, together with a primary school, employment space, plus a range of community and sports facilities.

Residents at Somerdale will be able to enjoy a new range of community facilities as part of the development proposals, with the iconic Fry Club being rebuilt to include new changing rooms, five flexible function rooms, a large sports bar with a skittle alley and a multi-activity room for community groups.

Sports facilities will include 13 full-size football pitches – one of which will be an FA-standard floodlit pitch – plus two junior pitches, four cricket pitches and a nine-hole golf course, while the existing bowling green and tennis courts are being retained.

A local centre is also included in the masterplan for the site, including a small number of retail units, a medical centre, a riverside cafe and a care home, as well as a new 210-place primary school and nursery.

A riverside walk will be created with a cycle/pedestrian bridge over the River Avon, while substantial areas of public open space, including a wetland area for wildlife, are to be established. Some existing factory buildings will be used to create 120,000 sq ft of employment space.

Commuters will appreciate that Keynsham has its own railway station just a short stroll from the new development with direct services to Bristol, Southampton and London Waterloo, while Bristol city centre lies only six miles from home. The development is well located for access to the A4, the M32 and the M4.

To take their pick of the first plots on sale at Somerdale, property-seekers can visit the new Sales and Information Centre, located off Somerdale Road, Keynsham, BS31 2AU, and open daily from 11am to 5.30pm. Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk.
