This summer, explore the UK’s spectacular mountain landscapes – taking in some of Britain’s best loved summits – on a guided walking holiday courtesy of HF Holidays.

In the Northern Lake District, for example, the guided walks take in the stunning landscape of beautiful lakes, dramatic mountains and tranquil valleys and there’s a choice of easier, medium or more challenging walks for fantastic views from the peaks.

There are opportunities for ascending the Lakeland mountain peaks of Helvellyn via the glacial arête of Striding Edge, Scafell Pike – England’s highest peak – Great Gable and Blencathra via the steep arête of Hall’s Fell.

The company features three, four and seven-night holidays with prices starting from £325 per person, twin-share, for a three-night break inclusive of full board, the programme of guided walks and the services of HF Holidays’ leaders.  First-time guests can enjoy a special discount of £50 off a short break or £100 off a week’s holiday on bookings made by 14 August.

Accommodation is at the company’s Derwent Bank Country House, set in woodland on the waterfront on Derwentwater, with the landscaped grounds running down to the lake and there are superb views of the surrounding fells and woodland.

Other British mountainscapes to explore with HF Holidays include the lochs, glens, ridges and peaks of the Western Highlands of Scotland with the option to ascend to the summit of Ben Nevis (bagging a Munro) as well as Stob Coire nan Lochan, Bidean nam Bian and Stob Ban.

Turning to Northern Snowdonia in Wales – where the company’s country house is situated at the heart of an extensive estate close to the base of Snowdon – there’s the option of superb mountain walks to the summits of Snowdon, Moel Siabod, Glyder Fach, Moel Hebog and Cnicht.
