The first homes have been sold ‘off-plan’ on the latest phase of a £50 million redevelopment project in Carlisle.

Parkside features a total of 44 new two and three-bedroom homes. It is the next stage of a large-scale development, which will eventually bring over 500 new homes to the site off Wigton Road.

Clare Noakes, regional sales manager for Lovell in the North West, said: “We’re yet to open our show homes at Parkside, but the fact we are selling homes ‘off-plan’ is a sign of homebuyer confidence and a healthy housing market.

“With property prices nationally on an upward trend, and latest figures showing values in Cumbria are up 6% from April 2013 to April 2014, we’re seeing more people who are keen to purchase a new home ‘off plan’.

“Buying in the early stages of a development also increases the likelihood that the best properties and the most attractively positioned plots will be available. Homebuyers could also have their pick of the interior finishing touches from kitchen units and worktops to tiling and flooring choices, enabling them to create a home that fits their practical needs and design preferences.”

Parkside is a modern development situated in an already well-established residential area on the edge of Heysham Park, a mile long stretch of greenery which includes playgrounds and sporting facilities. Residents will also benefit from easy access to Carlisle and the M6, via the Carlisle Northern Development Route.

Clare added: “At Parkside, we’re providing brand new and much needed homes for first time buyers and families, offering an impressive specification and excellent value for money.”

Purchasers could also take advantage of the Help to Buy scheme, which could enable them to buy with just a 5% deposit and a 20% equity loan from the government.

The properties are currently being sold from the sales office at The Elms, Lovell’s previous neighbouring phase, which is now sold out. A new sales centre and two stylish show homes will open at Parkside in September to showcase the new wave of properties to prospective purchasers.

The homes all feature contemporary kitchens, with top name appliances, pristine bathroom suites and a host of other quality fixtures and fittings. Being brand new, they are designed to be more energy efficient and therefore cheaper to run.

Prices start from £124,995 for a three-bedroom semi-detached home. The sales centre is open Thursday to Monday, 10am to 5pm. For more information, visit lovellnewhomes.co.uk/developments/northwest/parkside.
