Europe’s largest gathering of BMW’s will descend on the Heritage Motor Centre when it hosts the annual BMW Car Club Festival on Sunday 17 August. The event promises to be even bigger than last year, with the re-naming of the event to ‘BMW Car Club Festival 14`. Around 700 models including M Power, Alpina, ZED, as well as modern, classic and modified models plus MINI’s will take part with the special highlight of the show being the appearance of the new electric i3 and the stunning i8 supercar.

The focal point of the event will be the arena, where there will be a master of ceremonies, Steve Deeks. There will be speeches by the regional chairs, presentations of the concours and competition winners plus live music. In addition there will be radio controlled cars, tombola, wheel changing challenge and special ‘show only’ promotions. Children’s activities will include bouncy castles, slides, face painting and a full size F1 simulator plus adult and child go-karting with trophies for the fastest go-kart and simulator driver. Visitors can also wander around the Museum and the restaurant will be open. The event will be sponsored by Rybrook BMW, Michelin, Thorney Motorsport and Footman James. The Saturday concours event is sponsored by Kleers, Thorney Motorsport and Footman James and will be held at the nearby Ettington Chase Hotel.

There is also a huge motorsport presence with some of the top teams showing their race cars and the opportunity to check your own power on the rolling road so visitors are urged to arrive early and book in to avoid disappointment. Ex formula 1 driver Mike Wilds will be joined by Alexander Simms ,Tom Wigley and Barry whizzo Williams to name but a few.

Tom Caren, Show Manager for the Heritage Motor Centre stated “The BMW Festival is a fantastic day out and not just for enthusiasts. You can see BMW displays stretching as far as the eye can see and entry to the Museum is also included in the ticket price. This year we are encouraging all BMW owners to attend, not just members of the club. If you own a BMW or not, this is a family day out with a personal welcome from the Chairman David Frith”.

Tickets on the day cost £15 for adults, £8 for children (under 5’s are free) and £42 for a family. Discounted tickets are available in advance, visit bmwcarclubgb.co.uk.
