A detached property close to amenities is what UK housebuyers desire when it comes to finding a new home, research has found.

And with prices of detached homes in Cheshire increasing faster than other types of property in the county, investing in one could be a smart move.

Buyers don’t necessarily hanker after grand mansions with acres of grounds, most are happy with the idea of a detached family home that boasts period features and is in a convenient location, a survey conducted for Ocean Finance has discovered.

Catering for those who agree, Redrow’s new venture in Farndon boasts a range of four-bedroom detached properties which all hail from the housebuilder’s popular Heritage Collection.

Sam Williams, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (NW), said: “The detached homes at Farndon Meadow have all been designed with modern living in mind and feature spacious open plan areas and separate formal lounges which offer a fantastic balance of family life and personal space. And with the homes all being close to a pretty village with a traditional high street, and boasting Arts and Crafts-inspired exteriors, Farndon Meadow ticks all the boxes for the modern family.

“What’s more, the selling prices of detached homes in Cheshire have improved by a higher percentage (+8%) year on year** than any other property type, proving their desirability and long term investment potential.”

If the idea of the perfect home and investment opportunity is tempting, there is a variety of financial initiatives to help get the move underway. Help to Buy is ideal for those who may not have a substantial deposit and there is also the option of Part Exchange on selected properties which makes it easier for those who don’t want to spend time, money and effort selling their current property.

Help to Buy is a government scheme that allows customers to take out an equity loan for up to 20% of the price, is available on all of the homes. The loan is interest free for five years and reduces the initial cost of the property and means customers should only need a 5% deposit.

And, if homeowners have a property that is at least 35% lower than the value of their chosen Redrow home, the value of the old property could be put towards the cost of buying a brand new one using the Part Exchange scheme.

Properties at Farndon Meadow include the ‘Welwyn’, complete with integral double garage, and the ‘Henley’, with its 36ft long family, dining and kitchen area and generously-sized bedrooms. To get a flavour of the lifestyle on offer there is a fully-furnished and expertly designed showhome, the ‘Sunningdale’ for visitors to take a look around.

Farndon is within easy reach of both Chester and Wrexham. The development is just four miles from the A41, with the M53, A55 and M6 making Manchester or Liverpool easily commutable.

Prices on the collection of four-bedroom detached homes start from £392,995.
