Existing homeowners are being offered a helping hand to take their next step on the housing ladder at Taylor Wimpey’s Weavers Gate in Melksham, Wiltshire – even if they have limited equity in their current property.

The Government’s Help to Buy scheme is available to those with a property to sell as well as first-time buyers, and enables purchasers to secure a 20% equity loan towards the cost of any new home at the development.

This means only a 5% deposit and a 75% loan-to-value mortgage are required for would-be movers to snap up a beautiful four or five-bedroom house at Weavers Gate.

What’s more, Help to Buy can also be combined with Taylor Wimpey’s own easymover initiative, through which the leading housebuilder finds a buyer for a customer’s old home in just a few weeks – and even covers the cost of estate agents’ fees.

Charlie Joseph, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Many people wrongly assume that Help to Buy is purely a first-time buyer incentive, and while it has helped a great many people to take their first steps on the property ladder, existing homeowners are also eligible to take advantage of this fantastic scheme.

“Because only a 5% deposit is required by the purchaser, a lack of equity in an existing property needn’t be an obstacle for those looking to trade in their old home for a spacious new family-size house at Weavers Gate.

“We can also take away all the hassle and headache of selling a home thanks to our stress-free easymover scheme – so this really is an opportunity that’s not to be missed.”

There’s currently a final selection of four and five-bedroom homes available to purchase with Help to Buy at Weavers Gate, including the four-bedroom ‘Danbury’ townhouse, priced at £240,000.

This wonderfully spacious three-storey property benefits from a large open-plan kitchen/living/dining room opening through French doors to the private rear garden, with a guest cloakroom completing the ground-floor layout.

Upstairs, the first-floor landing leads to a lounge/family room with Juliet balcony, plus a double bedroom and a bathroom, while the en-suite master bedroom, two further bedrooms and another bathroom are found on the top floor. There’s also a car port plus additional parking located outside.

Help to Buy is available with new build homes up to the value of £600,000 and there is no salary cap for purchasers taking advantage of the scheme.

Less than two miles from the charming town of Melksham, Weavers Gate benefits from all the beauty of the countryside on the doorstep, but is still within easy reach of the town’s amenities.

Located by the River Avon, the bustling town centre offers shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes, open space and leisure facilities – and a real community spirit.

Weavers Gate is just eight miles from both Chippenham and Devizes, while Bath is 14 miles from home.

The M4 motorway is 13 miles to the north, and Melksham railway station provides local services and links to the main London to Bristol line at Swindon.

To find out more about Help to Buy and easymover at Weavers Gate, existing homeowners can visit the Sales and Information Centre, located at 16 The Bramblings, Melksham, Wiltshire, SN12 7GF. The development is open daily from 11am to 5.30pm.
