Existing homeowners are being offered a helping hand to take their next step on the housing ladder at Taylor Wimpey’s Chandos Manor @ Coopers Edge in Brockworth, Gloucester – even if they have limited equity in their current property.

The Government’s Help to Buy scheme is available to those with a property to sell as well as first-time buyers, and enables purchasers to secure a 20% equity loan towards the cost of any new home at the development.

This means only a 5% deposit and a 75% loan-to-value mortgage are required for would-be movers to snap up a beautiful brand new three or four-bedroom house at Chandos Manor.

What’s more, Help to Buy can also be combined with Taylor Wimpey’s own easymover initiative, through which the leading housebuilder finds a buyer for a customer’s old home in just a few weeks – and even pays the estate agents’ fees.

Charlie Joseph, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “Many people wrongly assume that Help to Buy is purely a first-time buyer incentive, and while it has helped a great many people to take their first steps on the property ladder, existing homeowners are also eligible to take advantage of this fantastic scheme.

“Because only a 5% deposit is required by the purchaser, a lack of equity in an existing property needn’t be an obstacle for those looking to trade in their old home for a spacious new family-size house at Chandos Manor.

“We can also take away all the hassle and headache of selling a home thanks to our stress-free easymover scheme – so this is an opportunity that’s not to be missed!”

There’s currently a superb selection of family-size homes available to purchase with Help to Buy at Chandos Manor, including three-bedroom homes from just £206,000, and four-bedroom houses from £220,000. The final four-bedroom ‘Welford’ detached house, for example, is priced at £330,000 and features a wonderfully spacious layout that’s ideal for family living.

At the heart of this traditional double-fronted property is a kitchen/breakfast room opening through French doors to the private rear garden, with a large lounge, a dining room, a study and a guest cloakroom also located off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the landing leads to the en-suite master bedroom, three further double bedrooms and a family bathroom, while there’s also a tandem garage with parking to be found outside.

Help to Buy is available with new build homes up to the value of £600,000 and there is no salary cap for purchasers taking advantage of the scheme.

With the lively city of Gloucester on one side and beautiful open countryside on the other, Chandos Manor enjoys a tranquil setting in beautiful Brockworth village.

The nearby villages of Abbeymead, Abbeydale and Barnwood offer a range of convenience stores and supermarkets for everyday needs, while the high street shops and designer outlets of the city are just five miles away. Brockworth has its own primary school, while there’s a choice of secondary schools within easy reach.

Chandos Manor benefits from easy access to the M5, the A38 for links to Tewkesbury and Bristol, and the A40 for Cheltenham and the Forest of Dean. Gloucester railway station also offers direct services to Bristol, Cardiff and London.
