Affordable Garden Route

Thanks to the continuing strength of the pound versus the South African rand, Fleewinter has some great deals which are over £600 cheaper than they would have been at the same time last year; for example, the Affordable Garden Route itinerary.

A year ago would have cost from £2210 per person including international flights whereas in 2014 it costs from £1570 per person sharing – so a huge 30% saving of around £640 per person.

The itinerary includes four nights in Cape Town allowing you time to visit Table Mountain, take a day trip around the Cape Peninsula and a day of visiting the nearby Winelands.

The road inland takes you to Oudtshoorn, a Karoo town famous for its commercial ostrich farming, Cango Caves and spectacular Swartberg Pass that offers commanding vistas across the mountains and into the valley. One night is spent here.

The next two nights are spent in Knsyna – the heart of the Garden Route – and an ideal base to explore the area; take a stroll in the indigenous forests, or a cruise on the Knysna Lagoon, sampling the unique fresh water oysters that are farmed here.

The last part of the holiday takes you to the big five territory of the Eastern Cape, staying for two nights in a very quaint owner-run safari camp which is one of the only true tented camps in the area.

Enjoy excellent game viewing which includes a combination of both game drives and big five game walks.
