Find out about help to buy in Tonbridge
Would-be new homeowners are invited to a special event to find out how Help to Buy could make owning a waterside apartment in Tonbridge easier to afford.
Help to Buy is a Government backed scheme designed to reduce the initial cost of homeownership with the aid of an equity loan.
The initiative has just been introduced at Waterside Reach in Tonbridge and to explain how it works Redrow is hosting a special event this Saturday (September 13).
Kerry Jenkins, sales director for Redrow Homes (South East), says: “Nationally Help to Buy equity loans have helped more than 32,000 people purchase a new home for less, but has only recently become available at Waterside Reach. We’ve found that while people looking to buy in Tonbridge have heard of the scheme, they are perhaps unsure of how it works or if they’re eligible. To make things simple for our customers we’re holding a special Help to Buy event to guide them through the application process and answer any questions they have.”
Now selling off plan, Waterside Reach currently offers a choice of two-bedroom apartments priced from £239,995.
Help to Buy offers purchasers the chance to take out a Government backed equity loan for up to 20% of the price. It reduces the initial outlay and means customers should typically only need a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage.
This means a two-bedroom apartment could be snapped up for an initial outlay of £191,996. The remaining 20% share is covered by the equity loan, which crucially is interest free for five years and can be repaid when the customer has more funds available or when they resell
Close to the River Medway, Waterside Reach enjoys a prime location in the heart of Tonbridge.
There are shops, bars and restaurants within walking distance and with journey times to London Bridge of around 35 minutes, it’s an ideal base for commuters.
