More new properties in Scotland this autumn, each with a wood-burning stove

Scottish Cottage agency, Unique Cottages, has expanded is portfolio of properties for autumn and winter and is highlighting a selection of snug cottages each with a wood-burning stove to keep cosy by.

Tucked away in the rolling Scottish Borders countryside is Kippilaw Garden Cottage in a peaceful secluded setting on a private country estate, which in autumn is ablaze with colour.  The cottage, which sleeps four, has a large open-plan upstairs living area with beams and wood-burning stove and downstairs are two en suite bedrooms.

There is lots of picturesque countryside to explore, by foot or bicycle, and the historical town of Melrose – with its 12th century abbey, little shops and restaurants - is just five miles away.  A seven-night holiday in October costs from £450, while a week in November and December is priced from £395.

Oran Na Mara is a traditional, whitewashed Highland croft house in a beautiful coastal location on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in Argyll.  This carefully converted property sleeps four in two bedrooms (with sea views) and has a wood-burning stove in both the sitting and kitchen/dining room. It also has a games room, plus a sunroom to take in the beautiful views.  A few minutes’ walk leads to the village of Kilchoan and lots of beaches are close by, the nearest being Sanna (seven miles).  A week in November and December costs from £345.

Also making its debut this autumn is luxurious Marine Cottage, which enjoys a prime position overlooking Loch Sunart near Strontian on the Ardnamurchan peninsula.  This stunning property, sleeping up to eight in four bedrooms (one en suite), has a large open-plan living area with loch views from its many picture windows, along with a cosy wood-burning stove  The beach is just a five-minute walk away and from the back of the cottage guests can walk out into the hills. Seven nights in November and December cost from £495.

Prices do not apply at October half-term and the festive period, when supplements apply.
