Designer cooker hood specialist BEST, is reporting a surge in sales of its extra quiet hoods as open-plan living is now adopted by a third of UK households.

According to a recent UK survey by The Daily Telegraph* one third of all homes in Britain prefer an open-plan space, resulting in demand for quieter appliances that cater for this lifestyle.

Jacqui Hoctor, commercial manager at BEST comments: “We have seen a considerable rise in the number of consumers wanting quieter extraction, and our most popular hoods are now those that deliver lower noise levels, as they offer minimal disruption for open-plan living.”

Research by YouGov** further supports the rise in open plan living, suggesting the design of appliances are more important than ever. The research revealed that 81 percent of consumers buy a new kitchen appliance to replace a broken/worn out item, whilst 9 percent make purchases in order to match new decor.
